“Together, we’ve built a strong, fiscally responsible city with safe communities, well-connected transportation, gorgeous open space and excellent economic opportunities. She’s the only candidate ready to take the next steps and continue all the great work that we have started. Join me in supporting Bridget Binsbacher as the next mayor of Peoria.”
Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat supports Bridget Binbacher’s mayoral run.
“It has been my pleasure to serve the residents of Peoria as mayor, and I strongly believe our city is heading in the right direction,” Carlat said.
“Peoria is consistently at the top of nearly every list when it comes to important quality-of-life metrics. We need Bridget Binsbacher as the next mayor to make sure it stays that way.”
Carlat was elected to city council in 2005 and was Peoria’s first female mayor in 2015. She was re-elected in 2018 and is the current president of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns.
During her time on council and as mayor, Carlat has been an advocate for fiscal responsibility, public safety, open space and economic development. She is term-limited in 2022.
“I have worked closely with Bridget while we served on the Peoria City Council,” Carlat said.

Carlat and Binsbacher have teamed up on several issues, including veteran services, economic development and protecting open space. Both hailing from the fastest-growing part of Peoria, Carlat and Binsbacher worked closely together to create Paloma Park, the recently completed regional park that provides an area for outdoor recreation and preserves open space.
“Mayor Carlat has made a tremendous impact on Peoria through her nearly two decades of service on council and as mayor,” Binsbacher said.
“I am incredibly honored to have earned her support in my bid to become the next Peoria mayor. I promise to continue moving Peoria in the right direction and promote fiscal conservatism, support public safety, maintain our quality of life, and promote Peoria as a regional leader. While I plan on bringing my own unique strengths to lead this growing city, I will continue to bring that spirit of cooperation and collaboration to the job.”
Binsbacher has lived in the Northwest Valley for more than three decades dedicating her time to public and community service.
She was elected to serve on the Peoria City Council in March 2015 and re-elected in 2016 and 2020. As an elected official, she has served two terms as vice mayor and has fought hard for fiscal responsibility, accountability, balanced budgets and no tax increases.
Binsbacher serves as the executive director of the Arizona Cactus League Baseball Association supporting Spring Training, which is one of Arizona and Peoria’s largest economic drivers
She has more than 20 years of professional experience in the finance industry with a wealth of knowledge in operations management, sales management and business development. She joined the Peoria Diamond Club as a board member in 2006 and led the organization to new heights after being named executive director in 2008.
Binsbacher has utilized her business background and commitment to public service to bring trust, honesty and conservative principles to the Peoria City Council. She has fought hard to hold the line on property taxes, promote fiscal responsibility, improve public safety, collaborate with citizens to build Paloma Park, and improve the overall quality of life in Peoria. Regionally, Binsbacher also represented Peoria on Maricopa Association of Governments Transportation Policy and Human Services committees.
In 2021, she joined the Arizona Municipal Water Association’s Board of Directors. She also volunteers with charitable organizations, serving on the Peoria Education Foundation, and previously with the Alzheimer’s Association and Peoria Chamber of Commerce. Her husband, Jon, is a fire captain and paramedic in the Northwest Valley of Arizona. They live in Peoria and have four children.
